Further Explanation
We would like to assure all of you that our decision to postpone a large class reunion was not made lightly or carelessly. Please allow us to briefly explain our situation, so that you understand our decision at this point.
As was the usual practice, prior to graduation the student goverment class set aside funds to be used in the future for class reunions. However, we have run into logistical problems with RHS and our funds that were set aside. The matter was not brought to our attention until recently and obviously too late to find a suitable alternative for funding such a large reunion. As I'm sure you know, a reunion for a class our size is a grand and costly event to plan. In addition, our class consisted of nearly 1000 students. Without any source of funding, contacting class members has proven to be time consuming, and at this point we have email address of roughly only 20% of our class. Waiting to have a 15 year reunion will give us time to figure out other means for funding it and time to contact a larger percentage of our class. Be assured that we will have a 15 year reunion. We are determined to make it work.
In the meantime, we are putting together a sort of informal reunion for this summer- something that will not require upfront funding, but still give as many students that want to and are able to participate an opportunity to reconnect. We hope to have detailes of the event posted very soon.
Please accept our apologies and know that we have our entire class in mind as we work on planning these events.

10 Year Reunion Update
Thanks to all of you who expressed so much interest in our 10 year reunion this year! We have had a great positive response from the classmates we've been able to reach.
We sincerely apologize for the delay in information regarding the reunion. We have been held up with some of the logistical planning of the reunion, have had some difficulty contacting a portion of our classmates, and have also determined that many of our classmates are still in school pursuing masters or PhD degrees, on work abroad programs, or otherwise unavailable this summer.
With that said, the ASB class of 1998 feels it is best to temporarily postpone the reunion and hold a 15 year or 20 year reunion instead. At that point, most of us will be established in our careers, settled with our families and have the means and ability to travel home for a reunion. This will also give us more time to plan and contact the rest of our class so that it can really be a fun event for everyone.
We will continue to manage this reunion website as we prepare for a reunion in the future. Please inform us of any email address change so that we can continue to contact you. You can email us at redlands1998@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments. Also, please continue to spread the word about the website to classmates you may come in contact with over the next few years so that we can reach as many of our classmates as possible.
